The Special Team for the new Elections Bill has submitted List of Problems regarding the content of the Bill to the Government. The List contains 2.855 numbers on which articles are approved and which are rejected, along with the rationale and recommendations.
“Today we officially submit List of Problems to the Government, represented by the Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Tjahjo Kumolo. Out of 2.855 numbers, most of them are approved articles. So the Government will only need to discuss around a thousand articles that need to be changed,” says the Chairperson of the Special Team, Muhammad Lukman Edy, during a plenary meeting at the House of Representatives, Jakarta (01/19).
The changing of the articles, Lukman says, will be dicussed during meetings with the Working Committee (Panja), the Law Formulation Team (Timus), and Synchronization Team (Timsin). The Chief of Panja is Benny Kabur Harman, and the committee is consisted of 18 people, they are:

Upon receiving the List of Problems, the Home Affairs Minister, Tjahjo Kumolo, says that he is optimistic that the Government will be able to complete the Bill on time. Tjahjo, with the Minister of Law and Human Rights, Yasona Laoly, and the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, will alternately attend the meetings with Panja.
“I thank you all the Parliament members for submitting the List of Problems. I am optimistic that the Government will be able to complete the Bill on time, or maybe early. We need only to wait for the time of the meetings with Panja,” says Tjahjo.
