The General Election Commission (KPU) has completed the recapitulation of national-level vote counting results in 38 provinces. The recapitulation includes the general election (election) for president and vice president, the election for the House of Representatives (DPR), and the election for the Regional Representative Council (DPD). In accordance with KPU Regulation (PKPU) Number 3 of 2022, the recapitulation of national votes for the 2024 election will take place from February 15 to March 20, 2024.
“The KPU has carried out plenary meeting activities to determine the recapitulation of national level vote counting results in the 2024 general elections, for the presidential and vice presidential elections, the DPR member elections, and the DPD member elections,” said KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy’ari at the KPU Building, Jakarta (3/20).
On that occasion, Hasyim explained that his party had tried its best to serve voters and election participants. According to him, the effort to broadcast live the entire vote recapitulation process is a form of the KPU’s openness efforts.
“We are also trying to be as transparent as possible, as honest as possible, and as responsible as possible in holding this election,” he said.
Furthermore, after the announcement of the 2024 election results by the KPU, parties who object to the election results can file an election dispute lawsuit with the Constitutional Court (MK). Based on Constitutional Court Regulation (PMK) No. 5/2023, parties who wish to submit a General Election Results Dispute (PHPU) application can submit a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court no later than three (three) days after the KPU determines the election results.
