Three NGOs Receive Bawaslu Award

The Election Monitoring Body (Bawaslu) presents an award to three non-government organizations (NGOs). The Association for Elections and Democracy (Perludem), Network of Voters’ Education for the People (JPPR), and Independent Committee of Election Observers (KIPP) receive the award for their contribution in observing and monitoring the Local Elections of 2017 process during “Bawaslu Awards” event in Jakarta (04/11).

Bawaslu Award is an award to honor and appreciate any election stakeholder for his/her involvement in monitoring the election process.

The best contribution in monitoring process by civil organization is only one category from many other categories of the award. There are also categories for Dispute Resolution, Violation Reporting, Participatory Dissemination and Monitoring, Relationship between Institutions, Management of Grant Fund.

Bawaslu also present the award to government institution that contribute in monitoring election process, such as the Ministry of Politics, Law, and Security, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the National Army, the National Police, Prosecutor General Office, the Election Commission, Commission of the State’s Civilian Apparatus, the Constitutional Court, and the Commission II of the Parliament.
