During the 2024 Election, Bawaslu Received 1,953 Reports

The General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) stated that during the 2024 election, it received 1,953 reports. Apart from that, 734 cases of various types of violations were also found during the 2024 elections.

“There are 87 administrative violations, 311 codes of ethics, as well as 133 criminal findings that have been filed and 191 other legal violations,” said Member of Bawaslu RI, Puadi, in an FGD entitled Pre-Pilkada Democracy Test 2024 at the Indonesian DPR Nusantara Building, Jakarta (20/6).

Puadi explained that the election was the biggest, most complicated, and most complex electoral agenda in the history of elections and voting in Indonesia. This is because the elections were held in the same year, even though the voting dates were different.

“From a technical perspective, it requires many supervisors to supervise each stage of the election. “Then there are potential problems that will be faced the same as the previous election because the election regulations have not changed,” said Puadi.

Bawaslu hopes that all stakeholders can strengthen cooperation ahead of the 2024 regional elections. Puadi also invited students to actively maintain democracy through monitoring the surrounding environment. []
