Ganjar-Mahfud Campaign Fund Expenditures Highest

The Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) published the release of the 2024 Election Participants’ Submission of Reports on Receipts and Expenditures of Campaign Funds (LPPDK) on March 7, 2024. Through this report, the public can see the total receipts and expenditures used by candidates for campaigning.

In the LPPDK Presidential Election (Pilpres), candidate pair number 1, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, received total campaign funds of IDR 49,341,955,140, or 49.3 billion rupiah. From this receipt, the total money spent on the campaign was IDR 49,340,397,060. There is only 1 million rupiah left in the special campaign fund account for candidate pair Anies and Muhaimin.

Meanwhile, candidate pair number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, received total campaign funds of IDR 208,206,048,243, or 208.2 billion rupiah. The funds used were IDR 207,576,558,270, or 297.57 billion rupiah. The remaining campaign funds for the second candidate pair are IDR 629,489,973, or 629.49 million rupiah.

In the 2019 presidential election, Prabowo Subianto, who at the time was paired with Sandiaga Uno, spent a total of 211.5 billion rupiah in campaign funds. There is a difference of 3 billion rupiah in Prabowo’s total campaign funds in the 2024 elections.

Furthermore, for candidate pair number 3, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, the total money spent on the 2024 election campaign was IDR 506,892,847,566 or 506.89 billion rupiah. This candidate pair received campaign funds of IDR 506,894,823,260. Thus, the remaining campaign funds are Rp. 1,975,694, or 1.97 million rupiah.

Based on the provisions of Article 335 paragraphs (1) to (3) of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning general elections, the LPPDK participating in the election is submitted to the Public Accounting Firm (KAP) appointed by the KPU no later than 15 (fifteen) days after voting, no later than 23.59 local time. Referring to these regulations, the LPPDK will be submitted from February 23 to February 29, 2024, no later than 23:59 local time. []
